These files have been recorded by real musicians (many famous) using various MIDI controllers including MIDI guitar, MIDI drums & MIDI wind controllers so they've got a real groove to them! By copying and pasting these phrases into your sequence you can quickly have the basis for your own original composition and because they're MIDI files you can edit them to suit - change tempo, key, voice, volume etc.

Description: Recorded in Rio de Janeiro by
top Brazilian drummer Alfredo Dias Gomes,
Brazilian Rhythms was produced by Richard
Court (the Brazilian singing star “Ritchie”),
and comprises an incomparable selection of
authentic Brazilian beats offered in Standard
MIDI File format.
In addition to classic Bossa Nova and Samba
rhythms come the Afro-Brazilian Afoxe
popularised by Gilberto Gil and Morais
Moreira, the dynamic Carnival favorite Frevo,
the lilting Maracatu, and the intriguing Xote
(“Shot-tch”), based on Scottish reels and jigs
introduced to Brazil by the European settlers.
Twenty-three separate rhythms, each played
over twelve or sixteen bars in an evolving,
developing style. This allows you to use a
longer beat that changes, or snip out and loop
a two or four bar groove for a tighter, more
consistent pattern.
The patterns have not been quantised, though
they are perfectly in time. Additional fill or
‘call’ files have been provided specifically for
the Olodum and Samba beats.

Paul Kodish was one of the leading lights
of the drum & bass movement that sprang
out of the UK in the late 1990s, and these
beats represent a definitive statement of
Paul’s high energy ‘human breakbeat’ style
of drumming.
The key to this volume is Paul’s incredible
dexterity when applied to tempos and
rhythms that you would expect to hear from
a machine. These are characteristically busy
patterns, and even though MIDI allows you
to reduce a 150 BPM groove (and they were
played at these tempos, too) to a more
sedate 110 BPM, you'll sacrifice the spirit
in which they were generated.

menu ranges from legendary sticksman Bill
Bruford’s idiosyncratic spin on funk to

loop segments that conform to your current

Bruford was one of electronic drums’ most
